Welcome to the Corporate Health & Safety Performance Index
Scope
CHaSPI - a health and safety performance index suitable for organisations with more than 250 employees, operating in the UK within any business, public or charity/volunteer sector. The development of the Index has been funded by the UK's Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
This Index underwent a period of validation during 2004, and with subsequent modifications was launched by the HSE in July 2005.
Aims
CHaSPI aims to help in the assessment of how well an organisation manages its risks and responsibilities towards its workers, the public and other stakeholders.
Various stakeholders may wish to use this Index:
Approach
CHaSPI is designed to give a measure of an organisation’s health and safety performance. It combines measures of outcomes (e.g. accident rates) and management processes, to reflect an organisation’s overall performance in health and safety.
Users
Any large or multinational organisation operating in the UK is welcome to register to complete the index. To do so, please click on the “Register” button on the home page. On submission of your details, you will receive an initial confirmation email and your registration will then be reviewed and confirmed within 3 working days.
